Heritage Golf Club
Set on the serene south coast of Mauritius, within 2500 Ha of the Domaine de Bel Ombre, is the beautiful Heritage Golf Course. Winding through the foothills of an area adorned with abundant natural riches; volcanic mountains, rolling green hills, rivers, marble white sand and the bluest waters, is the 83 Ha course designed by renowned golf architect, Peter Matkovich. The region’s natural features; boulders, rivers, bushy vetiver grasses, and palm tree jungles, have been cleverly integrated to create a superbly enjoyable course.
This award-winning – voted five times consecutively Best Golf Course in the Indian Ocean – 18-hole, par 72 championship course will challenge the most experienced golfers, while the five tee positions on every hole ensure casual golfers can enjoy a round here too. In 2015 and again in 2017 Heritage Golf Club hosted the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, the world’s first tri-sanctioned golf tournament endorsed by the Sunshine, European and Asian Tours, and the premier sporting event in the region.
A visit to the beautiful Club House is a must, where golfers can take advantage of a wide range of world-class services such as GPS fitted golf buggies, skate caddies, trolleys, and club hire; including PGA pro golf lessons at the Golf Academy. For something a little different, Heritage Golf Club offers Foot Golf and will soon offer Disc Golf on its fun yet challenging 9-hole short course.
Construction begins soon on a Louis Oosthuisen signature championship golf course. This second course has been carefully crafted into the natural landscape of the Savanne mountain range under the watchful eye of co-designer Peter Matkovich. The Heritage Golf Club, with its close proximity to the Heritage Le Telfair is fast becoming the hub of golf in Mauritius and this magnificent golfing facility is well worth a visit.
